MELEE AND PARCELS ARE USUALLY SORTED
Melee is used to describe smaller brilliant-cut diamonds as well as all small diamonds that are used in embellishing mountings for larger gems. Melee are round diamonds that normally weigh less than 0.10ct or 10 points. The Single Cut variety are vintage round diamonds with 17 facets in total. Full Cut melees are replicas of larger, more modern round brilliant diamonds that have a combined 57 facets.
MIXED OR SORTED DIAMONDS
Melee and parcels are usually sorted diamonds in clarity, weight and shape. To sell these you will get a price per carat. Melee or parcels are usually sorted smaller diamonds that are used to set on the band of a ring or as decoration for the rest of the jewel. They can also be used solely on an earring, ring or other jewel.
Private individuals, pawn shops, goldsmiths or jewellers have mixed, small or even broken diamonds. Most of the time these come from repairs. We are interested in buying these, too.
